Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Engineering, Operations Engineer, Environmental Engineer
I'm partnered with a privately held, global specialty chemicals manufacturer with nearly a century of history and deep expertise in high-performance lubricants and synthetic esters supporting aerospace, defense, industrial, and automotive markets. Founded in Europe in 1929, the company has grown into an international organization with a presence in multiple countries and a strong reputation for technical excellence and innovation.
Despite their global footprint, they maintain a family-owned structure and a people-first culture, offering the stability and resources of a larger organization while still providing site-level autonomy and visibility.
This opportunity sits at their Newnan, Georgia manufacturing facility-a brand-new, greenfield site that launched production in 2025. With roughly 40 employees on-site and continued growth planned, the facility is still in the early stages, creating a rare opportunity to build and shape the EHS program from the ground up rather than inherit a mature system.
What you'll be doing:- Leading all environmental, health, and safety efforts for a single-site chemical manufacturing facility
- Building and developing the EHS program from the ground up in a greenfield environment
- Conducting field audits, safety observations, and driving day-to-day shop floor engagement
- Managing environmental compliance, including air/water permitting and regulatory reporting
- Leading incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Establishing policies, procedures, and standards aligned with corporate and regulatory expectations
- Partnering with site leadership to drive safety culture and continuous improvement
- Supporting audits, certifications, and Responsible Care initiatives
- 5+ years of experience in EHS leadership within chemical manufacturing ONLY
- Strong hands-on, "boots-on-the-ground" approach with the ability to influence at all levels
- Knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting, and compliance requirements
- Experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis
- Strong communication and leadership skills-this role will be the sole EHS presence onsite
- Someone who can balance tactical execution with program development
- True greenfield opportunity-you'll build and own the EHS program at a site that's only about a year old
- High visibility role reporting directly into site leadership with exposure to global leadership
- Unique blend of hands-on plant support and strategic program development
- Backed by a stable, privately held global organization with long-term investment in the site
- Opportunity to make a lasting impact on safety culture, systems, and site growth early on
- Location offers easy access to Atlanta while keeping a more suburban, commute-friendly setting
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to operations but also wants the ability to create, influence, and leave a lasting mark on a growing facility.
