Relay Settings Electrical Engineer

Design protective relay and control settings by applying principles and techniques of electrical power engineering. Model power systems and protection schemes and perform analyses and studies. Perform arc-flash studies in accordance with industry standards. Assist in writing proposals.

Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in relay settings, a PE license, and expertise in working with Schweitzer relays, microprocessor-based, and electromechanical relays. This is an on-site position, requiring attendance at our Baton Rouge office five days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement relay settings for protection systems.
• Perform analysis, testing, and troubleshooting of protective relay systems.
• Work with Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) relays.
• Handle both microprocessor-based and electromechanical relays.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with other engineers and field teams to optimize system reliability.

Qualifications:

• Professional Engineer (PE) License is required.
• Minimum five years of experience in relay settings and power system protection.
• Experience with modelling software – Aspen, Cape, & E-tap.
• Hands-on experience with Schweitzer relays (SEL).
• Experience with both microprocessor-based and electromechanical relays.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
