Safety Engineer

As a safety engineer, you can expect to have frequent interaction and communication with representatives from regulatory agencies, executive management and general team members. You will work closely with the construction teams, legal department, site operations teams, process engineers, and facilities engineers to maintain company compliance.

Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and continually improve Micron's safety programs and operating procedures to assure worker safety, property conservation and compliance with local, national, and international laws.
- Lead construction and tool installation projects to ensure EHS requirements are effectively implemented.
- Execute ISO 45001 and TOSHMS management system.
- Review and approve construction and system designs for compliance and integration of safety by design best known methods (BKM).
- Conduct detailed risk assessments to identify potential hazards and resolve mitigation strategies.
- Evaluate operations to confirm compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and benchmark industry standards.
- Perform regular safety audits and inspections to ensure the maintenance of special safety standards.
- Provide training and support to employees to foster a culture of safety and inclusion.
- Investigate incidents and accidents to resolve root causes and develop corrective actions.
Education Required:
- Bachelor's degree or above in Occupational Health and Industrial Safety Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience
Required:
- 7+ years Occupational Safety and Health experience in Semiconductor or high technology industries is preferred.
- Experience in construction safety design and construction safety management for semiconductor or high-tech plant construction is preferred.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing safety programs in an industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of local, national, and international safety regulations.
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and collaborators.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with team members, customers, and management.
- Demonstrated success in managing small to medium sized projects and leading multi-functional teams.
- Possess good organizational and computer skills.
- Ability to self-motivate and work with a minimum of supervision
- Fluency in Mandarin and proficiency in English.
Qualifications/Certifications
Required:
- Certifications in safety and health management (e.g., Occupational safety management specialist, Occupational health management specialist.)
- ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 lead auditor is preferred.
