Senior Estimator
Job Location:
Baton Rouge, LA Base Salary: $125K-$155K++ Requirements: 10+ years of civil estimating experience with an emphasis on DOT, Municipal and Industrial projects. Must have HCSS Heavybid experience.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in preparing accurate estimates for various civil engineering projects, particularly in the industrial sector, including power plants and marine projects. The Senior Estimator will work closely with project managers and engineers to ensure that all estimates reflect the true scope of work and resource requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil engineering projects, including earthwork and marine operations.
- Utilize estimating software such as HCSS Heavy Bid to produce accurate and efficient estimates.
- Collaborate with project teams to gather necessary information and clarify project specifications.
- Analyze project drawings and specifications to identify potential risks and opportunities for cost savings.
- Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and reliable data for estimates.
- Review and provide input on bid proposals and contracts to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Assist in the development of project budgets and financial plans in conjunction with project management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in estimating for civil projects, with a focus on industrial and DOT work.
- Proficiency in estimating software, particularly HCSS Heavy Bid.
- Strong understanding of USACE project requirements and standards.
- Experience in power plant, marine, and earthwork projects is highly desirable.
