PurposeThe Fired Equipment Engineer designs, develops, implements, and analyzes technical products and systems. POC for fired equipment support and escalations; troubleshooting issues, planning turnaround and equipment strategy. This position is located onsite Baton Rouge, LA in a refinery environment – 30% field, 70% in office (per diem/living allowance may be offered for candidates that live 100+ miles from Baton Rouge, LA).
The anticipated role duration is one year with possibility of extension.
- The Equipment Engineer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems.
- May develop a range of products.
- Recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
- 8+ years of industry experience with 3+ years fire equipment experience with heaters, boilers, flares; operation and project delivery background.
- Proficient in fired simulation software and Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrates effective communication across several teams; displays initiative with juggling several priorities with tight deadlines.
- Strong knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within particular field.
- Anticipates & solves problems by integrating knowledge from a number of areas.
- Less reliant on supervisor, but may report to a supervisor or manager.
- Responsible for owning projects.
- Represents local workgroup internally and on occasion, externally.
- Required:
Bachelor's in mechanical or chemical engineering.
