The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality's (LDEQ) mission is to provide service to the people of Louisiana through comprehensive environmental protection in order to promote and protect health, safety, and welfare. Help protect the air millions of people breathe while leading advanced environmental monitoring efforts across Louisiana. This role offers the opportunity to apply engineering expertise, data analysis, environmental science, and innovative technology to manage a statewide ambient air monitoring network of more than 40 sites.
You'll work on complex environmental challenges, support critical Clean Air Act initiatives, collaborate with scientists and technical experts, and help drive decisions that protect public health and improve air quality for communities across the state.
A bachelor's degree in an engineering field plus three years of experience in process design; OR A master's degree in an engineering field or a chemical or physical science field plus two years of experience in process design; OR A doctorate degree in an engineering field or a chemical or physical science field plus one year of experience in process design.

Job Duties and Other InformationJob Duties:
* Lead and support a statewide ambient air monitoring network spanning more than 40 monitoring sites across Louisiana.
* Apply engineering expertise, environmental science knowledge, and advanced technologies to address complex air quality challenges.
* Analyze environmental and air quality data to identify trends, support regulatory initiatives, and inform critical decisions.
* Collaborate with scientists, technical specialists, and regulatory partners to strengthen monitoring operations and environmental programs.
* Contribute to protecting public health and improving air quality through initiatives that support Clean Air Act compliance and pollution reduction efforts. Position-Specific Details:

This position offers a Special Entrance Rate (SER) listed below. This is the minimum compensation that may be offered. The job title and salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
