What You’ll DoAs a Water Quality Consultant, you'll work with industrial and commercial clients throughout Texas and the Gulf Coast, providing practical solutions to environmental permitting and compliance challenges.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Manage and support water quality permitting and compliance projects from planning through completion.
- Prepare permit applications, compliance reports, technical memoranda, and regulatory correspondence.
- Coordinate and conduct water quality, groundwater, stormwater, and wastewater monitoring programs and field investigations.
- Evaluate environmental data and develop technical analyses and recommendations.
- Support permitting and compliance programs, including:
- TPDES/NPDES wastewater permitting
- Stormwater compliance
- SPCC Plans
- FRPs
- Industrial wastewater compliance
- Groundwater and surface water monitoring
- Coordinate with clients, laboratories, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables with increasing independence.
- Build trusted relationships with clients by delivering practical, high-quality environmental solutions.
- Collaborate with engineers, scientists, geologists, and other technical professionals on multidisciplinary projects.
- As your experience grows, take on increasing responsibility for project management, client development, mentoring junior staff, and business development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Geology, or a related scientific discipline.
- Three (3) or more years of environmental consulting experience with water quality permitting, compliance, or related environmental projects.
- Experience with one or more of the following:
- Water quality permitting
- Industrial wastewater compliance
- Stormwater compliance
- Groundwater investigations
- Surface water monitoring
Environmental sampling
- Working knowledge of the Clean Water Act and TPDES/NPDES permitting programs.
- Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional client service.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Additional experience in any of the following is a plus:
- Preparing permit applications and regulatory reports
- Industrial wastewater permitting and compliance
- SPCC Plans
- SWPPPs
- Managing project budgets and schedules
- Direct client interaction and relationship management
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
- Must meet all Drug & Alcohol, Health & Safety, and Security Program requirements.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and able to safely operate a company vehicle, including a full-size pickup truck.
