Environmental Waste Compliance Scientist/Engineer
Eagle Environmental Services, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Waste Compliance Scientist/Engineer to provide client-facing support in hazardous waste management, regulatory compliance, permitting, reporting, and waste minimization. The ideal candidate can interpret complex regulations, manage multiple projects, and deliver clear technical solutions.
Responsibilities:- Advise clients on hazardous and other regulated waste programs, including RCRA and applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
- Prepare and review waste determinations, profiles, permits, contingency plans, reports, and regulatory correspondence.
- Conduct facility inspections, compliance audits, and waste assessments; identify gaps and recommend corrective actions.
- Support agency inspections, enforcement and corrective-action activities, and client training on waste handling and compliance.
- Develop waste minimization, recycling, and sustainability initiatives.
- Collaborate with air, water, remediation, and sustainability professionals.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Geology, Biology, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in environmental compliance, hazardous waste management, industrial operations, or consulting.
- Knowledge of RCRA, CERCLA, DOT hazardous materials rules, and related state requirements, including waste generation, storage, labeling, manifesting, and disposal.
- Experience with inspections, audits, waste characterization, or regulatory reporting preferred.
- Strong technical writing, communication, organization, and project-management skills;
Microsoft Office and environmental data-system proficiency preferred. - Commitment to company health and safety policies; ability to pass background, vehicle, and drug screenings.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER and TWIC preferred; DOT Hazardous Materials training is a plus
- Willingness to travel and perform occasional field work.
