Environmental Scientist/Water Specialist
Eagle Environmental Services, Inc. is seeking a Mid-Level to Senior Environmental Scientist to join our team in Baton Rouge. The successful applicant will work on a variety of water quality, stormwater management, and surface water permitting projects in the industrial, commercial, and governmental sectors. This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with our technical experts and to expand your level of experience in this region.
Responsibilities- Prepare associated water permits for Industrial, commercial, and governmental agencies.
These - included NPDES/LPDES permits, 316(b) permitting, SWPPP reports, and SPCC plans.
- Conduct associated field work including surface water sampling and other permit driven field activities.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers, subcontractors, regulatory agents, and clients during field activities.
- Assist co-workers with interpretation of data using spreadsheets, figures, and development of technical reports.
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental/Civil Engineering, Environmental/Natural Science, Environmental Policy, and/or Geology.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration or commitment to obtain license when eligible a plus.
- Recent graduate to senior level years of experience.
- State/Federal environmental regulatory knowledge and/or experience.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Skilled with Microsoft Office programs and other computer software proficiency.
- Effective written/verbal communication skills and organization/analytical skills; experience recording data and drafting detailed technical reports.
- Ability to multi-task project assignments, and maintain flexibility, while meeting strict deadlines.
- Strong commitment to our safety culture, including following established Health and Safety policies.
- Must be able to pass a background check, vehicle background check, and drug tests.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER training completion a plus.
