Description

We are looking for a new Financial Reporting Accountant to join our accounting team at our Corporate Office in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The purpose of the Financial Reporting Accountant is to support the preparation and completion of the Company’s statutory and SEC filings by assisting with financial documentation, data analysis, and reporting activities.

What we're looking for in you:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
  • Willing and able to learn a variety of software applications.

Education and Experience:
  • Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or another business-related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in SEC financial reporting or a related financial reporting role.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion.
  • CPA certification obtained or actively in progress.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Prepare and reconcile supporting work papers for SEC compliance filings, including the Company’s Form 10-K and Form 10-Q submissions.
  • Coordinate Greenhouse Gas (GHG) data collection requests, including communication with internal stakeholders, tracking completion, and reviewing supporting documentation.
  • Perform monthly GHG analytics, evaluate trends and variances, and investigate outliers as needed.
  • Maintain and update GHG process documentation, procedures, and calculation methodologies.
  • Organize and maintain supporting work papers in a complete, accurate, and audit-ready manner.
  • Review draft SEC filings for completeness, consistency, and overall reporting accuracy.
  • Prepare accurate and well-supported subsidiary financial statements for statutory audits and non-audit reporting needs.
  • Assist with SOX compliance, including execution of testing procedures and documentation of control activities.
  • Support external auditors in the timely completion of statutory and SEC-related audit requirements.
  • Coordinate and provide requested documentation for auditor sample selections and inquiries.
  • Prepare and document all required testing for Completeness and Accuracy (C&A) validation processes.
  • Perform other financial reporting or accounting duties as assigned.
