Job Responsibilities- Plan and coordinate the work of Tax Officers and Tax Analysts in a district that are engaged in tax collection, customer service, compliance, inspection and enforcement of Louisiana revenue laws.
- Randomly review taxpayer accounts in the LDR's tax information system (DELTA) in order to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with laws, policies and procedures.
- Direct field operations that include compliance checks, seizures of funds from cash registers, the closing of businesses, and working taxable events such as fairs, flea markets and arts and craft festivals.
- Assist subordinates and the Assistant Tax Director in working with attorneys, CPAs, accountants and taxpayers in mediating problems between subordinates and taxpayers.
- Seven years of experience in accounting, financial auditing, tax administration, tax policy or law, management analysis, or administrative services in a financial setting; OR
- Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus four years of experience in accounting, financial auditing, tax administration, tax policy or law, management analysis, or administrative services in a financial setting; OR
- A bachelor's degree plus four years of experience in accounting, financial auditing, tax administration, tax policy or law, management analysis, or administrative services in a financial setting; OR
- An advanced degree or a Juris Doctorate plus three years of experience in accounting, financial auditing, tax administration, tax policy or law, management analysis, or administrative services in a financial setting; OR
- Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or a current Louisiana license to practice law plus two years of experience in accounting, financial auditing, tax administration, tax policy or law, management analysis, or administrative services in a financial setting.
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. - This posting may be used to fill vacancies in other divisions available within the Louisiana Department of Revenue within 90 days of the closing date.
- A Tax and Natural Disaster Clearance will be conducted on all selected applicants to validate the timely submission of tax returns and payments. It is a requirement that all Revenue employees must adhere to all tax laws of the State of Louisiana.
- Criminal history records checks will be conducted for all selected applicants as required by LA R.S.15:587.5, 587.6 and the IRS.
