Office of Early Childhood Operations

This Social Services Analyst role primarily focuses on determining and maintaining eligibility for the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP). This involves assessing eligibility, case management, family support/communication, and collaborative teamwork.

• Experience in eligibility determination or case management.

• Following Policies and Procedures: The ability to comply with policies and procedures of the organization as well as State Civil Service rules, and all applicable federal and state laws.
• Making Accurate Judgments: The ability to form an opinion objectively and decisively based on relevant information and in accordance with established standards.
• Thinking Critically: The ability to objectively question, analyze, interpret, and evaluate information to form a conclusion.

• Three years of experience in social services; OR
• Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR
• A bachelor's degree.

Experience Substitution: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. • Gather and analyze information to determine if families are eligible for CCAP, both initially and on an ongoing basis.
• Understand and consistently apply complex federal, state, and agency policies.
• Accurately and efficiently process all case activities by required deadlines.

Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office. Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment, if selected.

Career Progression: This position participates in a Career Progression Group. As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Social Services Analyst 1/2 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant.

Work hours are Monday - Friday. Work hours will be determined.

Hourly: $17.18 – $30.92

Monthly: $2,978 - $5,360

Annually: $35,734 - $64,314
