This position functions as a records specialist responsible for entering, reviewing, and processing inmate court information within the offender case management system. The role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of inmate data, particularly in relation to intake, sentencing, and release documentation. This work directly supports the department’s mission of upholding justice, public safety, and legal compliance.
- This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with courts, sheriffs, and other law enforcement agencies across the state, gaining firsthand knowledge of the criminal justice system. It combines administrative precision with investigative problem‑solving as you verify complex court data, resolve discrepancies, and help ensure inmates are released in accordance with lawful timelines. An ideal candidate should possess the following competencies:- Communicating Effectively: The ability to convey information, ideas, and emotions using structured communication methods that promote understanding and engagement.

- Following Policies and Procedures: The ability to follow, reinforce, adapt, or develop policies and procedures to maintain compliance with federal and state legal requirements, State Civil Service rules, and organizational policies.
Three years of experience in offender records analysis, offender classification, offender pre‑classification, security, or social services or as a probation or parole officer; OR
Six years of full‑time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelor’s degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full‑time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
