Part‑time position that provides assistance with general administrative duties.

A Recovery Assistance Section (RAS) Associate is a part‑time professional who performs limited activities with regular oversight. This position is responsible for conducting assignments in accordance with applicable procedures, program rules, federal and state regulations.

RAS staff members perform agreed‑upon procedures engagements in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS) to evaluate compliance with federal and state laws, rules and regulations. They gather evidence regarding fraudulent or abusive activity affecting government entities; detect and deter misappropriation of public assets and reduce future fraud risks. They also perform financial statement audits of state agencies, colleges, and universities, assessing stewardship of public officials and instilling public confidence in our government.

Reviews and issues local auditee financial reports submitted by external CPAs, advises local governments on financial, operational, and compliance issues, and provides best practices and educational resources to local governments and those they serve.
