PositionPolice Officer 2 – protect lives and property through active foot and mobile security patrols. This position provides first aid and emergency services, enforces parking and traffic regulations, provides crowd control at special events, prevents interference with normal operations, and directs traffic.
Minimum QualificationsOne year of law enforcement experience.
Experience SubstitutionEvery 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university substitutions for one year of the required experience.
Special Requirements- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
- Possession of a current Louisiana driver’s license.
- Possession of an active Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification may be required.
- An applicant convicted of a felony or under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.
- Enforces local, state, and federal laws through foot and mobile patrols.
- Provides crowd control and traffic control.
- Delivers emergency services.
- Makes arrests and prepares necessary paperwork.
- May serve as an assistant shift supervisor.
- May investigate serious crimes and accidents; may testify in court.
- Conducts crime prevention programs and works on special assignments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Compensation: SPECIAL ENTRANCE RATE OF $19.88/HOURLY FOR THE POLICE OFFICER 2
