The Louisiana Works is seeking an Executive Staff Officer to join the Office of Workers’ Compensation Administration (OWCA). The OWCA oversees the enforcement and administration of workers’ compensation laws, supporting early return-to-work efforts and improving workplace safety. The incumbent reports to the Chief Judge of the OWCA and manages complex programs, budgets, grants, and relationships with leadership and agencies.
Job Duties- Develop current and long‑range plans, policies, and procedures for managing agency programs.
- Respond proactively to audit findings, programmatic challenges and issues.
- Map out project and program schedules, identifying needed resources and working with internal and external teams to ensure state compliance.
- Serve as primary floor warden and safety training coordinator.
- Coordinate property accountability and accurate accounting & payroll.
- Six years of experience in administrative services; OR
- Six years of full‑time experience in any field plus three years of experience in administrative services; OR
- A bachelor’s degree plus three years of experience in administrative services; OR
- An advanced degree, or a Juris Doctorate, plus two years of experience in administrative services.
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience toward the six years of full‑time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours, which substitutes for up to four years of experience.
