As a Social Service Analyst 1–3, you’ll interpret and apply complex federal, state, and local regulations while guiding clients through program requirements and available resources. You’ll conduct in-depth client interviews to assess work history, education, abilities, and goals, then serve as a case manager—documenting findings, coordinating services, and developing solutions that support successful participation.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Three years of experience in social services; OR
  • Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR
  • A bachelor's degree.
Experience Substitution

Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

  • Determine Eligibility for Economic Stability Programs Determine initial and ongoing eligibility for Economic Services (ES) programs by gathering, analyzing, and documenting client information; interpret and apply complex federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and agency policies while maintaining a reduced caseload compared to lower-level SSAs.
  • Provide Quality Customer Service and Program Guidance Assess customer needs, explain program rules and procedures, make appropriate referrals, and deliver services respectfully, consistently, and without bias, while demonstrating cultural sensitivity.
  • Manage and Document Caseloads and Case Activity Manage assigned caseloads by completing required forms, recording findings, documenting case activity and correspondence, and monitoring case development to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Serve as Lead Analyst and Mentor Train, mentor, and provide technical assistance to new and lower-level SSAs and support staff; interpret program policies, review cases for accuracy, and assist with corrective actions and performance development.
