We are seeking a dedicated, student-centered Speech‑Language Pathologist to join our school‑based team. This role supports students with communication needs by providing direct interventions, conducting evaluations, developing high‑quality IEPs, and collaborating with staff and families to promote meaningful progress.

Regional Director of Exceptional Student Services

This is a part‑time position scheduled to work 25 hours weekly

Essential Position Functions

Provides assessment and remediation services to students with speech impairments within the school setting.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct speech‑language therapy services to students in accordance with IEP goals.
  • Conduct comprehensive speech‑language evaluations, including screenings, formal assessments, and diagnostic reports aligned to Louisiana Bulletin 1508 guidelines.
  • Develop, write, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that reflect accurate data, present levels, measurable goals, and appropriate services.
  • Maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations, timelines, and documentation requirements.
  • Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, families, and administrators to support student communication needs across school environments.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, progress monitoring, and required professional development.
  • Collect and analyze ongoing progress data and adjust therapy interventions as needed.
  • Provide resources, strategies, and communication support to teachers to increase generalization of skills in the classroom.
  • Perform other duties as deemed appropriate by administration
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of evidence‑based speech‑language interventions.
  • Skilled in writing compliant, data‑driven IEPs.
  • Ability to complete evaluations and reports in alignment with state guidelines.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage caseloads, timelines, and documentation efficiently.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology preferred.
  • Current Louisiana SLP license or eligibility for licensure.
  • Experience working in a school setting is a plus but not required.
  • Valid ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) preferred
