Position: Pharmacy Technician 2 - Retail PRN Premium

Pharmacy Technician 2 - Retail PRN Premium

FMOL Health is looking for a Pharmacy Technician 2 to work on a PRN basis in a retail setting. The role will be supervised by a registered pharmacist and will involve assisting with compounding, dispensing prescriptions, and performing clerical duties related to the department. Responsibilities include receiving and storing supplies, verifying stock, entering inventory data, maintaining records, and meeting state certification requirements.

Candidates should have completed Pharmacy Tech 1 requirements and possess specialization training in IV, Automation, Narcotics, and related areas. The position requires experience, judgment, and the ability to manage complex tasks and lead/cooperate with others.

Responsibilities
  • Complete the medication ordering process by entering data, reviewing prescriptions, assisting the pharmacist with container filling, typing labels, and attaching them according to dispensing format.
  • Ensure all medication-related work is reviewed and checked by a pharmacist.
  • Process wholesale orders, organize merchandise on shelves, and maintain inventory control.
  • Maintain supplies for filling orders accurately and on time.
  • Make deliveries to patients at bedside, ensuring customer satisfaction, and collect necessary documentation and payment.
  • Process charging of medications for insurance companies and patients.
  • Complete all assigned daily tasks and assist others when time permits.
  • Respond to incoming calls politely, efficiently, and timely; direct calls to appropriate personnel.
  • Process patient pharmaceutical charges efficiently and timely; credit and return unused medication, and record narcotic charges accurately.
  • Adhere to departmental and hospital policies, safety, quality assurance, and infection control standards.
  • Communicate and work with others to ensure safe and effective service.
  • Resolve communication deficits with healthcare professionals and co-workers expeditiously.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of Pharmacy experience.
  • High school diploma.
  • Pharmacy Technician Certificate (state appropriate).
