• 5 years of pharmacy technician experience in a retail or hospital environment

• Pharmacy Technician Certificate from the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy

Serve as the vital link between prescribers, patients, and pharmacy operations, promoting Baton Rouge General’s pharmacy service offerings while ensuring a seamless medication access experience for patients. Assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing drugs, maintaining inventory, and keeping accurate records.

• Collaborate with leadership, physicians, and support staff to promote expanded pharmacy program utilization
• Stay current on drug access programs and coordinate educational and outreach activities
• Streamline refill requests and communication between pharmacy, prescribers, and patients
• Recommend improvements to sales materials and workflow efficiency
• Procure and distribute patient medications as requested per policies and protocols
• Compound sterile and non-sterile products accurately following USP and standards
• Deliver medications and supplies accurately and timely to care areas
• Maintain medication stock levels, rotate and restock inventory, and prepackage medications for pediatric/neonatal use
• Accurately enter medication orders and maintain required documentation and logs
• Supervise assigned technician staff and processes, provide leadership, and address technical issues
• Participate in departmental quality improvement activities, inspections, and data collection
