What We're Looking For- Detail-oriented and dependable with a strong sense of responsibility
- Ability to work independently and follow procedures accurately
- One year of medical records experience preferred
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and safety practices
- Comfortable using filing systems, phones, and basic computer tools
- Physically able to perform medium work (lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally)
- Special skills, license and knowledge requirements

- Perform clerical tasks to support the coordination of medical records and ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in record handling.
- Locate, record, retrieve, and file medical records according to department procedures
- Maintain accurate and organized files using number and color-coded systems
- Answer phones professionally and record information accurately
- Assemble, analyze, and review medical records for discharged patients
- Use medical record indices and computer systems for record retrieval
- File dictation and update computer records with 100% accuracy
- Report supply shortages or equipment issues promptly
- Follow HIPAA and infection control guidelines
- Complete all assigned tasks during your shift and communicate follow-ups
- Participate in performance improvement and cost management initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned
