Provide comprehensive speech therapy assessment, treatment, and education for patients with communication and swallowing disorders while collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary care team.
Essential Job Functions- Completes speech and language assessments, develops treatment plans, and documents patient progress.
- Implements therapy interventions to improve communication, swallowing, cognition, and functional independence.
- Provides patient and family education, home programs, and strategies to support progress.
- Adapts therapy methods and environments based on patient needs and goals.
- Maintains accurate documentation, billing, and productivity records based on department standards.
- Participates in interdisciplinary meetings, discharge planning, and care conferences.
- Recommends equipment or assistive devices when needed and collaborates with vendors.
- Provides in-services and training for assistants, techs, students, and other staff.
- Stays current with continuing education and new treatment approaches.
- Participates in department initiatives, quality improvement, and process enhancement.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Louisiana license and ASHA CCC's preferred. Able to work independently, evaluate and set plan of care for adults with communication and swallowing disorders in the acute, post-acute and outpatient setting.
