  • 1 year of pharmacy technician experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Trainee Certification or Pharmacy Technician Certificate from the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy

  • Support pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining inventory, and upholding accurate records for the age population served in accordance with departmental scope of service
  • Fill medication orders, surgical kits, carts, requisitions, and specialty items accurately and in compliance with policy
  • Prepare and compound sterile and non-sterile products in accordance with USP & standards
  • Deliver medications and supplies promptly to appropriate patient care areas
  • Assist with ordering, receiving, rotating, restocking, and replacing medications and supplies
  • Prepackage medications for pediatric and neonatal use per policy
  • Accurately input medication orders, charges, and credits into the pharmacy computer system
  • Answer phones professionally, handle window requests, and deliver STAT medications as needed
  • Maintain required logs and records and ensure documentation is filed appropriately
  • Conduct medication storage inspections, quality monitors, and cycle counts as assigned
  • Complete all other assigned duties and maintain required job competencies
