The BI Developer II designs, develops, and supports enterprise-level reporting and data visualization solutions. This role translates business requirements into scalable analytics tools, dashboards, and datasets that improve data access and decision-making across the organization.

Serving as a subject matter expert, the BI Developer II partners with operations, leadership, and technical teams to build and maintain reporting solutions aligned with institutional standards. Responsibilities include data modeling, workflow analysis, scripting, database development, metadata management, and application support. This role leads visualization deployments, enhances existing applications, and ensures solutions remain optimized through system upgrades.

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong technical expertise in Microsoft database technologies (MS SQL Server, Visual Basic, scripting/interface tools) and a passion for driving innovation in healthcare analytics. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams are essential.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field is required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in data analytics, data management, software development, or information technology in a healthcare environment is required.
  • Detailed knowledge of healthcare and hospital business operations as well as comprehensive knowledge of Epic’s reporting suite of analytical tools is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Meets with users to understand the business/hospital problems they are trying to solve.
  • Develops a work plan and timetable for delivery.
  • Coordinates effort within the department to achieve the desired application.
  • Contacts users on an interim basis for feedback on project development.
  • Supervises projects of other programming team members and communicates progress to the Programming Manager on all issues or milestones.
  • Trains and assists users on the new applications.
  • Assists in the development of custom interfaces to integrate Information Systems resources.
  • Continues software support by providing upgrades/enhancements/fixes as needed.
  • Assists in the evaluation of new technologies hospital-wide and how they can be applied to meet users information needs.
  • Keeps accurate and timely records of project status in Help Desk system.

Compensation
  • $63,400 - $101,000
