The IT Support Specialist serves as the primary IT contact for the Baton Rouge, LA manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for providing Tier 1 technical support, deploying devices, managing hardware inventory, supporting video conferencing systems, and administering IT services and tools. This position plays a critical role in troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining system functionality, supporting onboarding efforts, and ensuring seamless IT operations across the facility.
The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of hands‑on IT experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to travel as needed.
- Support end users through the ticketing system, resolving Tier 1 issues
- Serve as the primary IT contact for employees and facilities in Baton Rouge, LA
- Provide IT support to additional facilities as needed
- Deploy new devices for end users using Microsoft Intune
- Perform hardware swaps for malfunctioning machines and coordinate with appropriate support channels to resolve issues
- Manage and maintain local inventory of hardware assets
- Administer IT services and tools
- Manage and support video conferencing equipment for company updates and client meetings
- Assist with network and server devices and environments
- Install and test software and hardware upgrades
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues as they arise
- Respond to operational IT needs and questions from associates in a timely manner
- Establish network users, environments, directories, and security measures
- Conduct separation procedures, including disabling user accounts, backing up data, running reports, and managing access to email and data when required
- Facilitate IT onboarding by conducting training sessions for new associates and providing demonstrations of company software programs
- Create and maintain documentation for systems and procedures
- Identify and recommend process improvements that benefit the department and organization
- 1–3 years of experience directly supporting IT users, both locally and remotely
- Experience with network or system administration preferred
- Proficiency in setting up and installing Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 (Office 365)
- Working knowledge of additional programs such as Visio, Project, and related applications
- Familiarity with internal communication tools, including video conferencing platforms
- Ability to document and communicate technical information clearly and concisely to non-technical audiences
- Strong listening skills and a positive, service-oriented approach to issue resolution
- Ability to respond consistently and promptly to critical IT matters
- Demonstrated ownership of projects and responsibilities with minimal supervision
- Collaborative team player who willingly supports colleagues as needed
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
