Job Overview
The BI Developer II designs, develops, and supports enterprise-level reporting and data visualization solutions in healthcare. The role translates business requirements into scalable analytics tools, dashboards, and datasets that improve data access and decision-making across the organization. Serving as a subject matter expert, the developer partners with operations, leadership, and technical teams to build and maintain reporting solutions aligned with institutional standards.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong technical expertise in Microsoft database technologies (MS SQL Server, Visual Basic, scripting/interface tools) and a passion for driving innovation in healthcare analytics.
- Meet with users to understand the business/hospital problems they are trying to solve.
- Develop a work plan and timetable for delivery.
- Coordinate effort within the department to achieve the desired application.
- Contact users as needed for feedback during project development.
- Supervise projects of other programming team members and communicate progress to the Programming Manager on all issues or milestones.
- Train and assist users on new applications.
- Assist in the development of custom interfaces to integrate information systems resources.
- Continue software support by providing upgrades, enhancements, and fixes as needed.
- Assist in the evaluation of new hospital-wide technologies and their application to meet user information needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of project status in the Help Desk system.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field is required.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in data analytics, data management, software development, or information technology in a healthcare environment is required.
- Detailed knowledge of healthcare and hospital business operations as well as comprehensive knowledge of Epic’s reporting suite of analytical tools is preferred.
- Cogito Epic certification or experience using the Cogito application is preferred.

Exempt Position - $63,400 – $101,000
