It Statewide Senior Developer

Division of Administration/Office of Technology Services is seeking an experienced Developer to join the Applications and Data Management team. The position will support partner agencies, OTS personnel, and technical vendors to analyze, design, develop, implement, and support IT systems.

• Five years of experience in information technology; OR
• Six years of full-time experience in any field plus three years of IT experience; OR
• Associate’s degree in IT plus three years of IT experience; OR
• Bachelor’s degree plus three years of IT experience; OR
• Bachelor’s degree with 24 semester hours in IT, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or business analytics plus two years of IT experience; OR
• Master’s degree plus two years of IT experience.

Experience substitution: every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited institution is credited as one year of experience toward the six years of full-time work experience requirement, up to a maximum of four years.

A certification in an approved area may be substituted for the education and/or experience requirements per the Certificate of Eligibles.

• Serve as a technical consultant for complex IT programs, applications, and enterprise systems.
• Provide expert system support and technical guidance to management and project teams.
• Evaluate IT service requests and recommend technology solutions.
• Analyze, implement, and maintain application software, office automation tools, security systems, and quality assurance processes.
• Develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance complex computer applications and database solutions.
• Design, code, test, debug, modify, and document applications using the OTS technology stack.
• Advise teams on development methodologies, application architecture, and database design.
• Lead project coordination activities and ensure project accountability.
• Respond to system emergencies and resolve complex technical issues.
• Support IT leadership functions, special projects, technical studies, and strategic initiatives.

• Career progression: may be filled as IT Statewide Applications Senior Developer 1, 2, or 3.
• Substitution: experienced candidates may receive credit for certifications up to two years of experience.
