This position is located in Baton Rouge, LA Office of Assessment, Accountability, and Analytics Job Focus Area This Education Information Consultant (EIC) is located on the Data Reporting team within the Division of Data Strategy & Governance within the Office of Assessments, Accountability, and Analytics. This position reports directly to an Education Research Analyst Manager and will support the Louisiana Department of Education's (LDOE) data request system for fulfilling internal, external, BESE, legislative, and public record requests.
This position will serve as the primary or secondary user support contact for the LDOE Data Request System. This system support encompasses, but is not limited to, the management of all communication and training with LDOE, all of the Local Education Agencies (LEAs) and Early Childhood Centers and associated contacts, and ensuring that the data is as error free and correct as possibly before a data request is delivered to the requester.
This position provides highly technical assistance and advice to LEAs, Early Childhood Centers, and LDOE program staff on all relevant data submissions, and acts as a Departmental data representative, as necessary, through written and oral communications. This position serves as the primary consultant, who fulfills Early Childhood Education data requests on the Data Reporting team.

Three years of experience in data management; OR Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR A bachelor's degree. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other InformationJob Duties:
- Early Childhood Data System Improvements
- Serves as the data warehouse leader supporting the Division of Early Childhood Operations, assisting stakeholders with informative data metrics
- Provides technical assistance for internal and external Early Childhood stakeholders
- Responsible for consulting on and testing of system enhancements prior to production implementations
- Data Collection and Communication
- Designs and produces technical reports using various tools such as Access, Excel, Power BI, Sheets, etc. to provide information concerning all education data, with a special emphasis on Early Childhood education data
- Extracts and compiles data from LDOE supported data systems to provide reports or electronic databases
- Research and User Support
- Designs analytical methods and produces technical support to offices within LDOE to facilitate program studies
- Administrative
- Analyzes statistical data, compiles reports and completes projects, as requested by Agency management
- Maintains records; prepares and analyzes reports; and creates data visualization products relative to the Department's needs
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type:
Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office. Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment, if selected. Career Progression:
This position participates in a Career Progression Group. As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as an Education Information Consultant 1/2/3, depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant.
Work Schedule:
Work hours are Monday - Friday. Work hours will be determined. Compensation:
The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. This position has a Special Entrance Rate (SER) of $20.07/hour. Note regarding the advertised pay range:
