It Statewide Engineer ; Dco​/Ots

The Division of Administration/Office of Technology Services seeks a high‑level technical support engineer to lead the implementation, management, and operational stability of public cloud services across the state’s enterprise environment. The role requires advanced planning, design, and analytical skills, as well as coordination with multiple vendors and stakeholders.

• Lead the day‑to‑day administration, support, maintenance, and operational stability of enterprise cloud services and infrastructure across four cloud platforms.
• Coordinate configuration, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of cloud infrastructure, including software‑defined networking, security services, Remote Desktop Services, Linux and Windows system images, containerization, and application hosting.
• Perform root‑cause analysis of complex cloud connectivity, routing, firewall, network security group, identity‑and‑access‑management, DNS, load balancing, and application access issues.
• Implement and maintain cloud operational standards, security controls, and best practices to ensure availability, reliability, compliance, and operational stability, including after‑hours support.
• Advise and consult with agency representatives, developers, system administrators, security staff, vendors, and management on design, implementation, integration, and operational risk mitigation of cloud services.
• Provide advanced technical analysis, documentation, troubleshooting, and guidance for complex cloud architecture, networking, performance, and security issues.
• Plan and implement cross‑platform cloud solutions and operational improvements, analyzing current and future requirements.
• Evaluate cloud technologies, vendor solutions, emerging technologies, publications, and best practices to support operational objectives and long‑term planning.
• Develop and maintain technical procedures, system documentation, operational standards, and change‑management records per OTS policies, while mentoring and training staff.
• Execute special projects, technical analyses, studies, planning assignments, and related duties as assigned.

• Five years of experience in information technology or administrative services; or
• Six years of full‑time work experience plus three years in IT/admin services; or
• An associate’s degree in IT plus three years in IT/admin services; or
• A bachelor’s degree plus three years in IT/admin services; or
• A bachelor’s degree with 24 semester hours in IT, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or business analytics plus two years in IT/admin services; or
• A master’s degree plus two years in IT/admin services.

• Every 30 semester hours earned will be credited as one year of experience toward the six‑year requirement, up to a maximum of 120 semester hours (four years).

• A certification in an approved area may substitute for the education and/or experience requirements at the time of hire or promotion, provided the appointment is from a Certificate of Eligibles.

• Appointment Type: Promotion of a current, permanent‑status OTS employee; may require a new probationary period.
• Career Progression: Positions may be filled as IT Statewide Engineer 1, 2, or 3 depending on experience.
