Accounting Supervisor

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Supervisor to join our team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This is a contract-to-permanent position within the healthcare industry, offering an excellent opportunity for growth. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills and a solid background in accounting to oversee a small team and ensure accurate financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and review monthly financial statements, supporting documentation, and work papers.

- Analyze financial reports, create specialized accounting reports, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

- Develop audit work papers and collaborate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits.

- Assist in the creation and evaluation of financial budgets and annual audit processes.

- Manage financial presentations for committee meetings and oversee related coordination efforts.

- Supervise a team of up to five accounting staff, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.

- Perform account reconciliations and ensure accurate journal entries.

- Lead special projects and address tasks as requested by management. Requirements - A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting with attention to detail.

- At least 3 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role.

- Strong knowledge of month-end close processes and general ledger management.

- Proficiency in preparing financial statements and conducting audits.

- Expertise in account reconciliation and journal entry preparation.

- Exceptional analytical and organizational skills.

- Ability to communicate effectively and manage a team in a fast-paced environment.
