"ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY"
This position is responsible for:
Supervises the day-to-day operations and staff of the centers resident facilities; assigns beneficiaries housekeeping and kitchen duties; monitors beneficiaries progress in program and ensures compliance with program standards; enforces house rules and ensures overall security of center; ensures that resident facilities are maintained in a neat and orderly manner; plans and implements leisure activities; prepares and maintains routine reports and statistics reflecting resident facility and client activities;
administers alcohol and drug tests as needed.
Residency on the premises is a condition of employment - the position requires a primary residence in employer-provided housing on the building premises to ensure leadership, emergency response, and operational oversight.
Key Responsibilities- Assigns and trains beneficiaries in performing housekeeping and kitchen duties; monitors work in progress and upon completion to ensure completeness.
- Enforces house rules in order to maintain order and peace amongst the beneficiaries; monitors and ensures overall security of center during evening and early morning hours; reports violations of house rules in writing to supervisor each morning.
- Monitors the front desk operations to ensure that The Salvation Army is represented in a positive and professional manner and to ensure the security of property, staff, and beneficiaries.
- Inspects dorms, canteens, and television room routinely to ensure they are maintained in a neat and orderly manner; notifies beneficiaries in violation of housekeeping standards and provides proper instruction for corrective action.
- Drives beneficiaries to appointments, errands and other outings; administers random alcohol and drug tests as needed for residents; inspects living quarters for prohibited contraband.
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language
- Ability to respond to emergencies in a calm manner and to make decisions regarding the appropriate corrective measures to ensure the safety and security of property and lives.
- Must live on building premises in employer-designated housing; ability to move quickly across campus and respond to emergencies at any hour.
Work is performed in a resident facility environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
24-hour response availability with scheduled on-call rotations; frequent evening, weekend, and holiday work.
Coverage and Time Away:
Schedule must ensure continuous on-site coverage; relief coverage required for approved absences; non-exempt employees must record and be compensated for all hours worked, including after-hours coverage.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or G.E.D.,
and
Three years experience supervising the operation, housekeeping, maintenance, and security of a residence facility,
or
any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Residency Requirement (Condition of Employment)
Maintains an on-site presence as the primary point of contact for emergencies, after-hours incidents, and urgent operational needs ensuring that matters are addressed in a timely manner. Maintaining primary residence in employer-provided, on-site housing is a condition of employment; failure to comply may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination; employee must sign a Housing/Occupancy Agreement outlining house rules, permissible occupants, maintenance, safety protocols, and move-out obligations;
time away from the property must be approved in advance by the manager and coordinated with other staff in advance to ensure continuous on-site coverage; relief coverage must be arranged per policy.
