Job Overview

District 08-UNIT 002 Alexandria, LA. Job Number: 08//GUARD/03.02.26-LT.
Position serves as grounds guard at DOTD District Headquarters. Reports to Transportation Operations Manager.

• Serve as grounds guard at DOTD Headquarters complex and/or other district/section facilities by routinely making rounds during assigned shift.
• Inspect grounds or job site to safeguard equipment and materials against damage or loss.
• Respond to emergencies and promptly report incidents to proper authorities; route calls.
• Perform miscellaneous custodial duties to maintain cleaning and grounds area.
• Dispense fuel during after‑hour periods and record transactions.
• Perform other duties as necessary, including emergency/disaster support activities.
• May be subpoenaed as requested by DOTD legal counsel.

No experience or training required.

• Applicants convicted of a felony or under indictment of a felony charge will be disqualified until relief is granted.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• May need a current Louisiana driver’s license.
