The Ops Supervisor assists the Ops Manager/Sr. Ops Manager with the operations and personnel for a shift of a particular location. The Operations Supervisor may have supervisory duties of employees on a shift, including but not limited to:
Technicians‑In Charge, Customer Service Coordinators, Technicians, and Service Employees. The Ops Supervisor must be able to accomplish results and ensure business objectives and labor requirements are met.
The Ops Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the customers' needs are being met while balancing financial, operating, quality, safety and asset targets against the requirements of the business. This position is responsible for the management of the location performance against metrics to meet and/or exceed assigned objectives. The Ops Supervisor will be cross‑functionally trained to be able to back up others within the shop.
As with all Ryder shop positions, the Ops Supervisor, or Shift Supervisor, is responsible for adhering to all Ryder Maintenance Operations policies and procedures.

Baton Rouge, LA Hours: 2nd shift, 1:00pm - 9:30pm Schedule: Monday - Friday
- Workflow Management:
Responsible for work analysis, planning and scheduling, assigning work to technicians, productivity tracking and optimization, shift and shop meetings, and RO review and approval; ensure all warranty policies and procedures are executed; triage unscheduled customer drive‑ins and communicate with customers; conduct yard checks. - Labor Management:
Provide management, training and development of all personnel; performance management of all assigned personnel. - Customer Management:
Manage customer relationships, issue resolutions, customer satisfaction and retention; handle PM scheduling & follow‑up, breakdowns, vehicle status updates, and conduct visits as required. - Asset Management:
Direct direct reports in maintaining the appearance and maintenance of the location; evaluate needs and recommend shop tooling and equipment; oversee vehicle specifications and service processes; manage parts inventory and policies. - Quality Management:
Conduct quality inspections of PM & repairs, perform in‑process reviews, root‑cause analysis, implement corrective actions; maintain cleanliness and quality of repair; ensure technicians are properly trained; manage quality assurance audits and continuous improvement programs. - Financial Management:
Deliver against Net Maintenance Cost per Unit objectives; control maintenance operations budget and P&L; execute maintenance initiatives; manage payroll, purchase orders, invoice and fuel reconciliation; manage customer bill‑back process and maintain data integrity in the Shop Management Online system.

- Strong vehicle diagnostics/repair knowledge (preferred).
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (preferred).
- H.S. diploma/GED required.
- Associate’s degree preferred or 1-3 years experience in a maintenance operations environment required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or 1-3 years experience in a maintenance operations environment required.
