Position: LPN- Emergency Department, The General (PRN)

JOB PURPOSE OR MISSION
Provides nursing care to designated patients under the direction/supervision of a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. Performs job duties appropriately for the needs of the age population served, as defined in the department’s scope of service.

PERFORMANCE CRITERIA

CRITERIA A:

  • Collects data essential to assessment and indicates deviations from normal to the physician.
  • Assists Physician(s) and Registered Nurse(s) perform patient assessments.
  • Develops appropriate educational tools for patients and their family members.
  • Provides instructions to patients and family members.
  • Individualizes patient care based upon physical, psychosocial and educational needs.
  • Escorts patients to and from treatment rooms.
