Position: ER Tech II- Emergency Department, Bluebonnet (FT Nights)

JOB PURPOSE OR MISSION

Works collaboratively with and under the direct supervision of a registered nurse to participate in the delivery of patient care for the improvement of quality of life for patients and families. Job is performed appropriately for the age population served as defined in the department’s scope of care.

JOB FUNCTIONS

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include, but are not limited

1. Performs direct and indirect patient care promptly and courteously as directed by registered nurse and/or physician to facilitate patient flow through the Emergency Department. PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
  • Assists in the initial assessment and management of illness or injury to emergency patients in accordance with specified protocol and procedure.
  • Reports changes in the patient’s condition, in a timely and accurate manner, to the patient’s primary nurse.
  • Provides direct treatment care according to hospital policy (i.e., splints, ace wraps, dressings, connecting to monitors, urinary catheterization and skin preps) in conformity with recognized safe practices.
