Description

Join a team where compassion meets clinical excellence. As an RN in our Outpatient Infusion Center, you'll play a vital role in delivering specialized, life-changing, and supportive therapies
-ensuring patients receive nationally recognized, high-quality care close to home. Here, you won't just provide treatment-you'll build meaningful connections, support patients through every step of their journey, and make a lasting impact in a collaborative, patient-focused environment.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Assessment & Data Collection: Performs thorough physical and psychosocial assessments, prioritizes patient needs, conducts screenings, and documents findings accurately.
  • Clinical Judgment & Planning: Analyzes assessment data to determine nursing diagnoses, establish patient-centered outcomes, and develop individualized, interdisciplinary care plans.
  • Care Coordination & Implementation: Collaborates with numerous healthcare teams to deliver timely treatments, administer medications (including chemotherapy), provide patient/family education, and ensure safe delegation and adherence to care standards.
  • Monitoring & Evaluation: Continuously reassesses patients, evaluates treatment effectiveness, and updates care plans to reflect changes in condition.
  • Specialized Infusion Skills: Demonstrates proficiency in chemotherapy, biotherapy, and immunotherapy administration, as well as management of vascular access devices (e.g. Implanted Ports, PICC lines) and home infusion pumps.
  • Protocol Compliance: Applies population specific protocols (e.g., neutropenic and thrombocytopenic precautions) and upholds patient safety and rights.
Overall, the role requires a commitment to lifelong learning, strong clinical expertise, interdisciplinary collaboration, and adherence to evidence-based standards to ensure high-quality infusion care across all patient populations.

Requirements

What We're Looking For:
  • Empathetic, resilient nurse with a passion for oncology care
  • Strong clinical judgment and communication skills in emotionally complex situations
  • 1 year of nursing experience preferred
  • Chemotherapy Certification Course required within first year
  • Current Louisiana RN licensure required
  • OCN Certification and active membership in ONS and BRONS preferred
