Prime Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN for PACU – Post Anesthesia Care in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Upon accepting the assignment, the unit manager may assign you to an emergency team where you are expected to remain at the facility until the event ends or to join the relief team. Pay for each emergency event will be communicated separately. The role will also involve care for pediatric PACU patients as needed.

• Provide postoperative care for all major surgical services, supporting patients across pre‑op, phase I, and phase II recovery.
• Care for adult and pediatric patients, including regional anesthesia and procedural recovery.
• Assist with high‑volume pediatric cases on the first floor and endoscopy, interventional radiology, and pulmonary lab cases on the second floor.
• Utilize equipment such as hoyer lifts, bladder scanners, and Accuvein devices.

• Minimum 2 years PACU or pre/post‑op experience; 3 years required for New Orleans operating room specialty.

  ACLS, BCLS, PALS; CPI for CNA/ER nurses.
• AHA certification required; AWHONN Intermediate or L&D RNCPI required.
• Current NURSYS reports within 4 weeks of submission.
• Travel compliance:
  Must be over 65 miles from home address; no local travelers accepted.
• No call‑in policy – RTO must be on profile.
• Must have a Compact or Louisiana license at time of submission; allied candidates must obtain licensure within 72 hours of signing.
• COVID‑19 vaccine required (medical or religious exemption allowed).
• Flu vaccine required (medical or religious exemption allowed).
• All applicants must be comfortable floating to pediatric PACU and to other specialty units as needed.

• Patient–to‑staff ratio: 1:22–1:30.
• Scheduled weekends: 3 per contract.

Pay package is based on 8‑hour shifts and 40.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.

Orientation will be held 5 days a week. No references required for initial submission, but 2 manager/supervisor references will be required to obtain clearance to start the contract.
