Role Overview

A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct patient care, including IV therapy, under the supervision of a registered nurse. They coordinate with healthcare team members, assist ancillary staff, and ensure high-quality, personalized care across diverse patient populations.

Utilizing the nursing process for data collection, planning, and evaluation; delivering care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, and safety needs; communicating professionally with patients, families, and staff; and adapting to changing unit needs. They also manage their professional development and maintain required credentials.

High school diploma or equivalent; current LPN license and BLS certification; preferred IV therapy credentials. Skills required include strong organizational, time management, interpersonal, delegation abilities, confidentiality, and the capacity to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

The role involves exerting force, working with potentially infectious materials, and exposure to hazardous substances, with accommodations available for disabilities.
