American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN with post-cardiac intervention experience for a night shift assignment requiring a Louisiana or compact RN license.
Details- Telemetry unit caring for patients post cardiac intervention, including heart cath, pacemaker, CABG, and TAVR
- Night shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts (18:45-7:15)
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- McKesson charting system experience preferred
- Float within the hospital as needed
- Active LA state or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy and starting/maintaining IVs required
- Experience managing cardiac drips (no titration) and heparin protocols required
- Experience with telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote) required
- Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias required
- Experience caring for patients pre/post cardiac cath, cardiac surgery, TAVR, post MI, and post cardiac angiogram required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Accessing/managing ports and blood product administration skills preferred
- Pacemaker (temporary/permanent) management experience preferred
- One professional reference required
- Candidate's permanent residence must be greater than 50 miles from the facility
- Provide cardiac monitoring and emergency response for telemetry patients
- Orientation spans three days, including virtual and on-site sessions with additional EMR training
- Holiday RTO requests should be kept to a minimum
- Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
