American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ER experience and CPI certification.
Details- Emergency Department unit serving combined adult/pediatric populations in a general ED and pediatric ED setting
- STEMI and Stroke certified facility
- Trauma care including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
- Cardiac monitoring with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:45-07:15)
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Epic EMR experience required
- On-call required every other weekend
- No call-in shifts required
- Active RN license (Compact or LA) required in hand at time of submission
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and CPI (NIHSS preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of ER specialty experience required
- Experience with pediatric and adult emergency conditions including abdominal pain, asthma, burns, head injury, seizures, and infections
- Experience managing psychiatric emergencies including acute psychosis, overdose, and suicidal patients
- IV therapy skills including starting/maintaining IVs, blood product administration, and central line care
- Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
- Experience with emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation
- Neurological trauma experience including CVA and traumatic brain injury
- Skilled in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and orthopedic splinting
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Must not have worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractor with this health system within the past year
- Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of medical, psychiatric, and trauma presentations
- May be assigned to an emergency response team during facility emergency events with expectation to remain onsite or serve as relief staff
- Must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually:
Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's - No RTO approved for Thanksgiving holiday period
- All RTO must be listed on profile and discussed during interview to avoid offer rescindment
- Orientation held five days per week
- Two Manager/Supervisor references required prior to starting contract (Charge RN references not accepted)
- NURSYS report must be current within 4 weeks of submission
- Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
