About the Position

Travel Nurse Source  is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ER/Trauma RN in Alexandria, Louisiana, 71301!

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year in related nursing specialty preferred License: RN License in state of employment or compact

Certifications:

BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, De-Escalation Must-Have:

- BLS certification via AHA - ACLS certification via AHA - PALS certification via AHA - TNCC certification - De-Escalation certification

Description:

This is a very high acuity unit. Contractors will see a heavy load of strokes, cardiovascular, diabetes, wounds, behavioral health, and sepsis cases. They will also see some trauma, but this is not a trauma-designated unit. Security is onsite 24/7. The competent nurse practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care while developing the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing.

Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation. Meets expectations of applicable competencies:
Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice. Using the appropriate protocol, administers medications and treatments;

monitors for side effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed. Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.
