About the Role
Are you passionate about organization, accuracy, and ensuring critical project information is managed effectively from start to finish? We're looking for a Document Control Manager to lead document management, information governance, and turnover readiness across complex construction, technology infrastructure, and mission‑critical projects.
In this role, you'll serve as the central hub for project documentation, coordinating information between project management, field operations, engineering, BIM/VDC, QA/QC, commissioning teams, subcontractors, and customers. You'll help ensure project records are accurate, organized, compliant, and readily available throughout every phase of the project lifecycle.

What You'll Do – Manage Information and Drive Project Readiness- Develop and maintain document control procedures, workflows, and standards across multiple projects and business units.
- Manage project document repositories, ensuring proper organization, version control, retention, accessibility, and distribution of project records.
- Coordinate and track RFIs, submittals, transmittals, drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation throughout project execution.
- Facilitate document workflows between project teams, field personnel, subcontractors, engineering groups, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Collect, review, and maintain field redlines, as-built drawings, testing documentation, commissioning records, and turnover deliverables.
- Ensure project documentation remains current, accurate, and aligned with contractual requirements and customer expectations.
- Monitor documentation status and proactively identify missing, incomplete, or overdue deliverables that could impact schedules or turnover milestones.
- Support project closeout activities by coordinating the development and delivery of complete turnover packages.
- Partner with Project Managers, QA/QC teams, commissioning personnel, and field operations to support readiness reviews and project handover activities.
- Generate reports, dashboards, and status updates related to document control, compliance, and turnover readiness.
- Establish and maintain document naming conventions, filing structures, and quality standards across projects.
- Support audits, quality reviews, customer documentation requests, and compliance initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve document workflows, increase efficiency, and strengthen information management processes.
- Ensure consistency and integrity between project records, field activities, and final deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of document control principles, document lifecycle management, and version control best practices.
- Experience managing RFIs, submittals, transmittals, as-built documentation, turnover packages, and project closeout records.
- Knowledge of construction project workflows, commissioning processes, and turnover requirements.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a focus on accuracy and process improvement.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience coordinating documentation between field teams, engineering groups, subcontractors, customers, and project leadership.
- Ability to identify documentation gaps, compliance risks, and process improvement opportunities before they impact project delivery.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive project information appropriately.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Information Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
