Position: QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN

Quality Control (QC) Technician

Bascom Hunter is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Quality Control (QC) Technician to join our team in Baton Rouge. The QC Technician is responsible for ensuring that products meet company and industry standards through rigorous inspection, testing, and documentation. This role is essential in maintaining product quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and test materials, components, and products at various stages of the production process.
  • Perform measurements and tests using specialized equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Document and report inspection results accurately and clearly.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and report quality issues or process deviations to supervisors or the quality team.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Maintain clean and organized testing areas, tools, and equipment.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality concerns.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance product quality and process efficiency.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical certification preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in quality control, quality assurance, manufacturing inspection, or a related technical environment, preferably in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing.
  • Preference for working knowledge of quality assurance practices, AS9100 and ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to interpret GD&T preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry software.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity for handling tools and samples.
Work Environment:
  • May involve working in a manufacturing, laboratory, or warehouse environment.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
