Position Overview
Research Associate Specialist – Renewable Natural Resources Department, LSU Agricultural Center, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Grant‑funded, non‑tenure track position through 07/28/27. Position will close upon the specified closing date and will be open until filled.
Responsibilities- Sampling and tissue analysis of invasive fish.
- Supporting ongoing research projects (native fishes, freshwater mussels, benthic invertebrates, water quality).
- Maintenance of boats and trucks; inventory management.
- Planning field activity.
- Data entry and analysis.
- Assisting principal investigators in design, direction, reporting, and publication of research results.
- BS or MS in natural resources management, ecology, wildlife management, fisheries management, or a closely related biological field.
- Experience with comprehensive management reporting.
- Experience with database management and programming, GIS and Microsoft applications.
- Ability to work independently and within collaborative teams.
- Previous experience in electrofishing, field and laboratory fish sampling and handling, and water quality research is strongly preferred.
