Postdoctoral Researcher

Responsibilities

• 70%—design, execute, and publish research on environmental pollutant monitoring using established EPA methods and advanced techniques such as SIFT‑MS and DART‑MS, including data analysis and manuscript preparation.
• 10%—mentor undergraduate and graduate trainees, facilitating their professional development.
• 10%—disseminate project findings through conference presentations, technical reports, and social media or other publications.
• 10%—stay current with scientific literature, propose new experiments, and contribute to grant proposals to secure external funding.

• Ph.D. in Chemistry, with an analytical chemistry emphasis on detection of small molecules via chromatographic and mass spectrometric methods, or a related field.
• Experience in designing methods for monitoring and detecting environmentally relevant compounds.
• Preferred: at least one year of experience using mass spectrometry and chromatography for molecular detection.

• Advanced proficiency in laboratory procedures and analytical equipment for environmental chemistry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentations to scientific audiences.
• Strong track record of peer‑reviewed publications in relevant fields.
• Experience teaching, mentoring, or advising students at the undergraduate or graduate level.
• Ability to collaborate across disciplines and foster a teamwork‑oriented research environment.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and advancing knowledge in the field.
