Position Summary

The Person In Charge (P.I.C.) is responsible for overseeing store operations in the absence of the Store Director or other designated store leadership. This position ensures exceptional customer service, operational excellence, food and safety compliance, and effective execution of company policies while providing leadership and direction to store associates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Store Operations

• Assume responsibility for the overall operation of the store during assigned shifts.
• Ensure all departments are operating efficiently and meeting company standards.
• Monitor sales floor conditions, merchandising, cleanliness, and product availability.
• Address operational issues and make informed decisions to maintain business continuity.
• Ensure proper opening, closing, and shift transition procedures are completed.

Customer Service

• Promote a customer-first culture throughout the store.
• Resolve customer concerns and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
• Ensure associates deliver friendly, courteous, and efficient customer service.
• Respond to customer emergencies and service-related issues as needed.

Leadership and Team Support

• Provide direction, coaching, and support to store associates.
• Communicate company expectations and operational priorities.
• Monitor associate productivity and adherence to company policies.
• Support training efforts and reinforce safe work practices.
• Foster a positive and respectful work environment.

Safety and Compliance

• Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
• Maintain adherence to food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
• Monitor workplace safety standards and address unsafe conditions promptly.
• Assist with incident reporting and documentation when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with cash handling and asset protection procedures.

Inventory and Merchandising

• Monitor product availability and stock levels.
• Ensure merchandising standards and promotional programs are executed properly.
• Support inventory control initiatives to minimize shrink and loss.
• Coordinate replenishment activities and maintain organized sales areas.

Financial Accountability

• Oversee cash handling activities and ensure accountability of store funds.
• Monitor operational expenses and resource utilization.
• Support efforts to achieve sales, productivity, and profitability goals.
• Assist with store audits and operational reviews as required.
