The Store Manager in Training role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Area. In this role, the individual will learn and support daily store operations, including managing customer accounts, overseeing inventory, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. The position involves assisting with sales activities, coaching and guiding team members, and contributing to a positive, customer-focused store environment.
The Store Manager in Training will also help monitor store performance, support merchandising and cleanliness standards, and participate in training programs designed to prepare for full Store Manager responsibilities. This role requires consistent in-person collaboration with team members and customers to meet store goals and uphold service standards.
- Customer service and retail operations skills, with the ability to build relationships and provide responsive, respectful service.
- Basic sales and cash-handling skills, including point-of-sale usage and comfort discussing lease-to-own options.
- Team leadership and coaching abilities, with an interest in supervising, motivating, and developing store staff.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities, inventory tasks, and daily store routines.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills to address customer issues, operational challenges, and policy compliance.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including clear, professional communication with customers and colleagues.
- Ability to work on-site full time in the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Area, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Prior experience in retail, customer service, or financial services is preferred; supervisory experience is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business, management, or related fields is beneficial.
- Comfort working with basic computer applications and learning company systems for account management and reporting.
