This is a full-time, on-site Salesperson role based in Baton Rouge, LA. The Salesperson will build and maintain relationships with contractors, tradespeople, and industrial clients, providing product guidance and support for fasteners, tools, and building materials. Day-to-day responsibilities include identifying customer needs, presenting product options, preparing quotes, processing orders, and coordinating with warehouse and delivery teams to ensure accurate and timely fulfillment.
The role involves maintaining a strong presence in the store and local market, following up on leads, managing a sales pipeline, and meeting sales and margin targets. The Salesperson will also handle basic account management tasks, address customer issues, and stay informed about new products and industry trends to offer informed recommendations.
- Sales and customer service skills, including relationship building, prospecting, and follow-up.
- Knowledge of or strong interest in building materials, tools, and fasteners, with the ability to learn product details quickly.
- Basic business and administrative skills, such as order entry, quoting, and record-keeping.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with customers and coworkers.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple customer requests and sales activities.
- Comfort working in an industrial or warehouse/store environment, including standing, walking, and light material handling.
- Prior experience in sales, construction supply, or a related field is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or technical training in construction or business is a plus.
- Basic computer proficiency for using sales systems, email, and inventory tools.
