JobPurpose
To join a team dedicated to student greatness and to ensure the safety and security of school facilities, property, and personnel as a Security Guard.
Responsibilities- Patrol assigned facilities, including buildings, parking lots, and equipment, examining for security and vandalism and reporting incidents to Police or Fire Department.
- Oversee pick‑up and drop‑off procedures.
- Work nights, holidays, and weekends as required.
- Supervise other building security personnel.
- Maintain accurate visitor and building logs and assist visitors according to protocol.
- Participate in training programs to increase skills and proficiency.
- Review current developments and literature relevant to security duties.
- Monitor electronic school security systems.
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures and comply with federal, state, and School Board policies.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by school administrators.
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
- Moderate noise level.
- Required physical demands: extended sitting and standing, manual dexterity for telephone and computer use, visual and auditory acuity, full mobility, and ability to reach overhead, stoop, bend, kneel, and squat.
- High school diploma or acceptable GED completion.
- Two years of building security experience or at least three years of supervisory experience in security.
- Knowledge of fire extinguisher types and correct usage.
- Mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to recognize potential security risks and identify authorized personnel.
- Alert, reliable, and trustworthy.
- Computer skills required; bilingual skills preferred but not required.
- Strong track record in problem analysis, pattern identification, and creative solution recommendation.
- Must sit and stand for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity for telephone and computer data entry.
- Visual and auditory capabilities to read screens, printed materials, and understand speech at normal levels.
- Clear audible voice for communication in classrooms, outdoors, and on the telephone.
- Full range of mobility in upper and lower body, including reaching overhead and various positions such as stooping, bending, kneeling, and squatting.
Job is non‑exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
