Job Title
Quick Response Officer (QRO)
Job Purpose & MissionThe Quick Response Officer (QRO) is a highly specialized internal security officer tasked with providing rapid, decisive action in response to high-risk security incidents, critical emergencies, or urgent threats across the hospital campus. With expert-level training and operational readiness, the QRO safeguards staff, patients, visitors, and physical assets. The QRO demonstrates exceptional situational awareness, rapid decision‑making, high‑level crisis management, and remains composed under pressure, operating as the first line of defense and coordinating with law enforcement and emergency services.
EssentialJob Functions
- Rapid Deployment & Incident Response: Deploy promptly across the entire campus to neutralize threats and mitigate risk.
- Crisis De‑escalation: Apply advanced techniques to manage volatile confrontations, minimizing harm.
- Security Patrols: Conduct proactive patrols to deter breaches and maintain a secure environment.
- High‑Risk Event Support: Lead or assist in emergency operations during active threats, disasters, or lockdowns.
- Collaboration with External Agencies: Coordinate with law enforcement, fire departments, EMS, and other stakeholders during complex situations.
- Operational Excellence: Maintain knowledge of protocols, systems, and procedures for rapid, efficient execution.
- Availability for Flexible Assignments: Ready for deployment across multiple facilities as needed.
- Critical Thinking in High‑Pressure Situations: Demonstrate composure and decision‑making in combative events.
- Stamina and Physical Endurance: Sustain physical exertion during high‑stress or prolonged emergencies.
- Composure Under Physical Exertion: Make sound decisions even under extreme physical demands.
- Required: Minimum of 5 years in military, law enforcement, or both, with a proven track record of handling high‑stress, high‑risk situations.
- Preferred: Specialized training in Special Operations or Tactical Operations, Crisis Intervention (CPI), Defensive Tactics, and De‑escalation Techniques; certification in advanced crisis response, active shooter response, and emergency medical procedures.
- Required: High School Diploma or GED; preference for additional certifications or education in security management, law enforcement, or related fields.
- Preferred: Advanced security‑related coursework or certifications in tactical operations, emergency response, or law‑enforcement management.
- Exceptional Communication: Convey clear, concise information in high‑pressure environments.
- Crisis Management: Expert in managing emergencies, assessing situations, and implementing solutions.
- Tactical Proficiency: High‑level defensive tactics, crisis de‑escalation, and special operations protocols.
- Situational Awareness: Heightened sensitivity to potential risks and early detection of threats.
